It is used as an (oil in water) emulsifying agent, surfactant or solubilising agent. It has an HLB (Hydrophilic – Lipophilic Balance) Value of 15 and can be used as a solubiliser for fragrance, essential oils and carrier oils to be incorporated into water or surfactant based products such as body washes and toners etc. It is soluble in water, partially soluble in fractionated coconut oil and insoluble in glycerine.
