Most people associate dry, itchy skin, eczema or dermatitis with winter, but now the spring is here and the weather is getting warmer there are many other things that can trigger skin conditions. Pollen, swimming, air conditioning and sitting on grass are all potential irritants. So here is a blend that could help to soothe and heal those sore, raw, uncomfortable areas.
5 drops German Chamomile
5 drops Yarrow
3 drops Geranium
10 drops Lavender
2 drops Tea tree
Add it to a carrier oil, base cream or turn it into a nice soothing balm. For the balm you can either simply blend it into our balm base or use the recipe below if you are feeling more adventurous.
Recipe makes 100g:
35g Virgin organic Coconut oil
30g Bees Wax
15g Organic Cocoa Butter
10g Calendula infused oil
5g Cold Pressed Avocado Oil
4g Jojoba Oil
1g Vitamin E
Gently melt bees wax, coconut oil and cocoa butter together until all lumps have gone. Then add all the other ingredients and stir well. When it’s cool but not yet solid add your essential oil blend. Allow to set and it’s ready to work its magic.
