Store bought dishwasher powders and tablets can be expensive and contain a long list of unpronounceable ingredients. But did you know that it is actually very easy to make it yourself? So here is a recipe for dishwasher powder that will help your dishes sparkle and your kitchen smell wonderful.

In a 1L mason jar mix together:
200g Sodium Carbonate powder (Washing soda)
200g Bi Carb Soda
100g Citric Acid
100g Table Salt
50g Borax
20 drops Sweet Orange Essential oil
20 drops Lime West Indian essential oil
10 drops Lemon oil
10 drops Lemon Scented Tea tree oil

Stir thoroughly. Close the lid and give it a good shake for luck. Then add a tablespoon to your dishwasher. *BUT* Thoroughly clean and prep your dishwasher before switching so that mineral residues aren’t loosened by the citric acid and redeposited on your dishes.
