Myrrh Essential Oil (Commiphora myrrha)

Myrrh essential oil is steam distilled from myrrh, the aromatic resin of the Commiphora myrrha tree. Its aroma is warm, rich and balsamic with a slightly smoky, bittersweet depth, and it is used as a base note in perfumery, incense style blends, soap and candles. It is a classic partner for frankincense. Range Products supplies myrrh oil 100% pure in 15ml, 50ml, 100ml and 500ml sizes, and we also stock myrrh granules if you want the resin itself. • Perfumery: Use as a base note and fixative. A small amount adds depth and staying power to floral, citrus and woody blends.
• Soap and candle making: Add at your usual fragrance load, usually alongside lighter oils. Its heavy base note holds up well through the process.
• Diffusion: Add 2 to 3 drops to a diffuser, on its own or with frankincense and a citrus oil to lift it.
• Topical blending: Dilute in a carrier oil before skin use, at around 2 to 3 drops per tablespoon of carrier, and patch test first.
• Safety: Keep away from eyes, do not ingest, and keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or under medical care, speak to a healthcare professional before use.
