Orange 10 Fold Essential Oil

Orange 10 fold essential oil is a concentrated form of cold pressed orange oil from the peel of Citrus sinensis. Most of the lower boiling components, mainly d-limonene, have been removed, which concentrates the oil roughly tenfold and leaves a rich orange colour and a much more tenacious scent. That is the whole point of a folded oil: the orange aroma survives in soap and candles far longer than it does with standard orange sweet oil. • Soap making: This is the main reason makers buy a folded orange. Use it where standard orange oil fades out of the finished bar. Start lower than you would with single fold oil, as it is far more concentrated.
• Candle making: Add at your usual fragrance load for a citrus scent that survives the pour and the burn.
• Diffusion: Add a few drops to a diffuser. You will need fewer drops than with regular orange oil.
• Topical blending: Dilute in a carrier oil before any skin use. Citrus oils can increase the skin’s sensitivity to sunlight, so avoid direct sun on treated skin.
• Note on colour: The oil is a rich orange, so it can tint pale soap bases and candle waxes.
