Also called Polyoxyethylene Sorbitan Trioleate. It is used as an (oil in water) emulsifying agent, surfactant or suspending agent, dispersant. It has an HLB (Hydrophilic – Lipophilic Balance) Value of 11 and is often used to make water dispersible massage oils. It is soluble in water, dilute acids/alkalis and most organic solvents.
