Product Information

Description

Description

A white, water soluble salt used in soap making and glass production.

It is sometimes used to make strong alkaline solutions or as an acidity regulator.

Otherwise known as refined pearl ash, it is the primary ingredient in potash.

In liquid soap it can be added in order to make it easier to stir during the cooking process. It is also thought to increase the cleansing properties, improve foaming and act as a water softening agent.

Potassium Carbonate can be used to make soft potassium soap like the traditional ‘wood ash’ or ‘potash’ soaps made in the 1700s and 1800s.
