School holidays are approaching and at this time of year everybody is looking for indoor activities to keep the kids entertained. Making Melt and Pour soap bars is the perfect fun project for a rainy day.
Our Melt and Pour soaps are a range of pre-existing soap bases that can be melted down, coloured, scented and poured into a mould without the need for caustic or weeks of hardening. It is easy to use, child friendly and endless colourful possibilities can be created. You can melt it carefully in the microwave or you can simply chop it up, put it into a glass bowl and place it over a saucepan of simmering water to gently melt. Make sure that the soap does not boil. Once it has melted, remove from the saucepan and allow to cool. Then you can add food colouring and fragrance or essential oil. A variety of household items can be used as a mould, such as milk cartons or fun shaped silicon moulds found in the baking section of most stores. It is easy to pour in and it sets in only a few hours. When it comes to getting creative the only limit is your imagination. You can layer colours, swirl colours, or inlay shapes of different colours into the soap.
