Stress, mental fatigue, eye strain, not enough sleep, dehydration, too much sun exposure and ageing are a number of things that can lead to dark circles, bags and tired puffy eyes. Carrier and essential oils can be great at helping to reduce these and protect the skin. So we have chosen four circle busting powerhouses and put them together in a rejuvenating eye serum recipe just for you.

Jojoba oil is similar to your skin’s own oil and helps to hydrate and lock in moisture without being oily and greasy.

Rose essential oil can increase the skin’s permeability, allowing your skin to absorb more of the nutrients from the other ingredients , while at the same time helping to relieve stress, promote relaxation, reduce fine lines and slow free radical damage.

Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that will support skin health, increase elasticity and help with inflammation to keep the bags at bay.

Rosehip oil is a must in any eye serum or cream. Nourishing, moisturising and anti-aging, it boasts a variety of beneficial nutrients, including Vitamin A, which is great for reducing and preventing wrinkles and damaged skin, and Vitamin C,  which encourages the body to produce collagen which boosts elasticity. It can also help prevent sun damage. Fun fact: in World War 2, British people were encouraged by the government to collect rose hips, which were made into a syrup for Vitamin C, as they had no access to citrus fruit.

In a 30ml Serum Bottle mix together:

10ml Rose Bulgarian oil 3% dilution in Jojoba Oil

5ml Natural Vitamin E

15ml Rosehip oil

Apply under the eyes morning and night carefully avoiding the eyes.

Fungal nail infections are a common ailment that can present themselves in a number of ways, from slight to moderate nail discolouration, to thickened or crumbling nails. Some essential oils such as clove, tea tree and oregano, have excellent anti-fungal properties and can be really helpful in killing fungus and treating infections naturally without side effects. According to healthline.com one of the most popular blends for treating fungal toe nail infections is ‘Thieves oil’. This blend has been around since the middle ages when legend has it, grave robbers used it to protect themselves from bubonic plague and the recipes vary depending what you read.

Healthline suggests:
20 drops Cinnamon Leaf
40 drops Clove bud
15 drops Eucalyptus
35 drops Lemon
10 drops Rosemary

For treating the infection, either mix together this blend or simply use one of the essential oils suggested above, add it to a carrier oil in the ratio of 1 drop essential oil to 4 drops carrier oil and apply it to the infected nail(s) once or twice daily. We recommend Jojoba oil as a carrier, it is full of vitamins and fatty acids beneficial in helping to improve nail strength and promote healing and healthy growth.
