It is often quite difficult to find a nice smelling car air freshener and most of them have no tester on the shelf so you don’t really know what it is going to smell like until you have bought it and it is too late. Try cutting a shape out of some thick craft paper or felt and soaking it in a few drops of your favourite fragrance or essential oil. Punch a whole at an edge and tie a ribbon or thread around it for hanging. You will already know you like the smell and it is reusable, just add a few more drops when the smell starts to fade.

Why not try our balm base out as a foot rub. Melt it down, add a couple of drops of peppermint essential oil, wait for it to set and massage all over to help seal the heel cracks and refresh tired feet.

Also known as Australian Southern Spring flower or Tick Bush and found growing in North East Tasmania or South East mainland Australia, Kunzea essential oil contains 5 sesquiterpine (or C15) compounds that all have strong anti-inflammatory properties. Therefore it can be an excellent addition to any joint or muscle treatment. These anti-inflammatory qualities, combined with it’s anti-infectious properties can also make Kunzea essential oil a good treatment for insect bites.
These magical properties of the Kunzea ambigua plant were discovered when a farmer in Tazmania called John Hood noticed that where it was growing by a wire fence, there was no rust on the steel and decided to investigate!

Both Western Australian Sandalwood essential oil and East Indian Sandalwood essential oils are extracted from the same parts of the tree and both contain similar quantities of alpha and beta santalol which give sandalwood oil its distinctive aroma. However WA Sandalwood has been shown to contain higher amounts of farnesol and alpha-bisabolol . These are the compounds which have demonstrated antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties. This suggests Wa Sandalwood essential oil is better for theraputic use while East Indian Sandalwood essential oil is coveted in the perfume industry.
